People of a particular country not just eat their own foods but also other foreign foods. How did this phenomenon happen? It shows that Globalization has caused the spreading of culture throughout the world and food is one of it. Today, someone in America can be eating Japanese noodles for lunch while someone in Malaysia is eating classic Italian meatballs. Any change in the food that we eat, in its preparation, the way it’s served and consumed diminishes the traditional beliefs of the people. For instance, “Nasi Lemak resembles the food culture of Malay. As we know, food is the oldest global carrier of culture and It reflects the culture and identity of particular races or nations. First and foremost, Globalization is the fundamental cause of food culture to be transformed. There are three things that could be affected: Food culture, traditional attire, and traditional performing arts. Globalization has joined different cultures and made it into something different.

However, this paper will focus on the cultural dimension, giving special attention to the impact of globalization on cultural diversity. Towards the end of the last closed century, there have been some protest movements against globalization on new world economic, political, cultural, technological, religious order, and the way the pros and cons of a new global world have been assessed. Many people have been experiencing the negative effects of the globalization process. Cultural diversity is now a fact of life in today’s “global village”. It is tempting to deny this diversity consciously or unconsciously. South Africa, for example, is culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse. Most countries have been failing to recognize the enriching value of diverse cultures.
